The solar market in Australia really kicked off in around 2013, which is when FRV started construction of the first Australian large-scale solar farm, at Royalla (24 MW dc) . We were one of the first international solar developers to enter the market and see its potential. Royalla is the first grid connected project-financed solar farm in Australia, which was completed under an innovative government-led reverse auction program launched by the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).
65 MW dc (La Jacinta) become operational in Latin America becoming the first large-scale solar project in Uruguay and the largest PV plant in Latin America at that time. It remains one of the largest solar plants in Latin America.
Financial close of Clare in Australia (125 MW dc). Developed by FRV, the plant was the first large-scale solar project in Australia to obtain funding without Government subsidy through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
Opening of Moree Solar Farm (70 MW dc) in Australia. The first large-scale solar project in Australia to use a single-axis tracking system with PV modules that follow the sun’s path from east to west to maximise the energy generated during the day.
Awarded 200 MW in Chile in the first hybrid solar-wind project.
Jordan launches its first nanosatellite with the support of FRV.
FRV secures financing for Potrero Solar (296 MW dc), one of the largest bifacial PV projects worldwide. Potrero Solar is FRV’s first project in Mexico to be financed before having any of its products (energy, CELs or capacity) committed in the tender schemes, and one of the largest merchant PV projects worldwide.
