{"id":16996,"date":"2022-09-22T08:42:44","date_gmt":"2022-09-22T06:42:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/frv.com\/?p=16996"},"modified":"2022-09-22T08:45:44","modified_gmt":"2022-09-22T06:45:44","slug":"frv-to-build-its-new-123mw-carmonita-norte-pv-cluster-in-extremadura-and-will-be-financed-by-mufg-ing-and-santander-cib","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/frv.com\/en\/frv-to-build-its-new-123mw-carmonita-norte-pv-cluster-in-extremadura-and-will-be-financed-by-mufg-ing-and-santander-cib\/","title":{"rendered":"FRV to build its new 123MW Carmonita Norte PV cluster in Extremadura and will be financed by MUFG, ING and Santander CIB"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>FRV has reached financial close on Carmonita Norte, the first of three solar plant clusters in which it plans to invest in Extremadura over the next year.<\/li>\n<li>Carmonita Norte cluster thus joins the solar photovoltaic projects that the company currently has in Extremadura both in operation (La Solanilla, 50 MWp, and the San Serv\u00e1n 220 cluster, 138 MWp divided into 3 projects), and in construction (the San Serv\u00e1n 400 cluster, 150 MWp divided into 3 projects), reaching a total of 461 MWp executed, which together with the solar projects currently under development reach 1.1 GW projected in the region.<\/li>\n<li>With a total capacity of 123 megawatts (MWp) and divided into 3 projects of 50 MWp, 50 MWdc and 23 MWp in an area of 356 hectares, the North Carmonita photovoltaic cluster will produce around 260 gigawatt hours (GWh) of clean energy per year.<\/li>\n<li>For its construction, FRV has reached a financing agreement under the Project Finance modality with MUFG, ING and Santander CIB for a total amount of 80.9 million euros.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Madrid, 22<sup>nd<\/sup> September 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/frv.com\/\">Fotowatio Renewable Ventures<\/a>, part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alj.com\/en\/energy-and-environmental-services\/energy-overview\/\">Abdul Latif Jameel Energy<\/a>, a world leader in the development of sustainable energy solutions, has reached financial close on the Carmonita Norte solar PV cluster in Extremadura. With a capacity of 123 MWdc, the Carmonita Norte cluster will be the first of the three clusters that the Carmonita node will host, to be followed by the Carmonita Sur and Carmonita Ministerio clusters, each one also formed by three independent projects, bringing the Carmonita node to a total capacity of around 763 MWdc. For its construction, FRV has reached a financing agreement under the Project Finance modality with MUFG, ING and Santander Corporate &amp; Investment Banking (CIB) for a total amount of 80.9 million euros.<\/p>\n<p>Once the plants are operational, the project&#8217;s revenues will be guaranteed by a long-term <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sostenibilidad.com\/energias-renovables\/que-son-los-contratos-de-compraventa-de-energia-ppa\/?_adin=02021864894%22%20\\h\">Power Purchase Agreement or PPA<\/a>. Covering an area of 356 hectares, the Carmonita Norte cluster will produce around 260 gigawatt hours (GWh) of clean energy per year, which is enough to supply around 93,600 Spanish homes and avoid the emission of 193,000 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2). With a capacity of 123 MWdc, the Carmonita Norte cluster will be the first of the three clusters that the Carmonita node will host, to be followed by the Carmonita Sur and Carmonita Ministerio clusters, each one also formed by three independent projects, bringing the Carmonita node to a total capacity of around 763 MWdc. For its construction, FRV has reached a financing agreement under the Project Finance modality with MUFG, ING and Santander Corporate &amp; Investment Banking (CIB) for a total amount of 80.9 million euros.<\/p>\n<p>Once the plants are operational, the project&#8217;s revenues will be guaranteed by a long-term <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sostenibilidad.com\/energias-renovables\/que-son-los-contratos-de-compraventa-de-energia-ppa\/?_adin=02021864894%22%20\\h\">Power Purchase Agreement or PPA<\/a>. Covering an area of 356 hectares, the Carmonita Norte cluster will produce around 260 gigawatt hours (GWh) of clean energy per year, which is enough to supply around 93,600 Spanish homes and avoid the emission of 193,000 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2).
