Located in Solana de los Barros, near the city of M\u00e9rida, San Serv\u00e1n 220 will have a total capacity of 130 megawatts (MW) and will produce close to 300 GWh (291,000 MWh) of clean energy per year, enough to supply around 88,500 Spanish homes and avoid the emission of 216,000 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2<\/sub>).<\/p>\nSan Serv\u00e1n 220, which already produces clean energy, occupies an area of 255 hectares and consists of three plants -San Serv\u00e1n 6, 7 and 8. \u00a0FRV continues to successfully develop its presence in Extremadura, one of the Company’s strategic regions of Spain and continues with its ambition to act as a driving force for the local economy by generating direct jobs related to operations and maintenance, as well as indirect jobs in the surrounding area.<\/p>\n

During her speech, Councilor for Ecological Transition and Sustainability, Olga Garc\u00eda, highlighted that the Regional Government of Extremadura continues to plan and execute its economic development strategy with a sustainably driven approach to offer a future alternative for future generations. “With renewable energies, Extremadura gains in competitiveness. \u00a0In addition, photovoltaic generation enables lower electricity costs, and this positioning represents an opportunity to attract industrial initiatives to the region.”<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
One of the most significant moments of the day was the planting of 29 olive trees (representing the European Union, its 27 member states and the region of Extremadura) as a symbol of bonding with Extremadura, by the ambassadors of the European Union countries in Spain who were invited by the Regional Government of Extremadura.<\/p>\n

most significant moments of the day was the planting of 29 olive trees (representing the European Union, its 27 member states and the region of Extremadura) as a symbol of bonding with Extremadura, by
